I am adamantly opposed to any changes to the current environmental and species protections. This current government has shown repeated disregard for environmental protection processes and has frankly shown a flagrant disregard for species at risk. Actions have been taken by the current government recently (Ontario Place) without due process and disregarding (90,000 signatures) tax-payer protests and speeding up any future endeavours to proceed with development plans counter to protecting environments and species, or allowing any process to begin before full evaluations have taken place would put more species at risk. These procedures are in place for a reason, and yes it takes time - again for good reason.
