As a resident of Ontario, I am strongly opposed to Bill 5. Doug Ford and his party are once again demonstrating their lack of care for Ontario or it's residents. Their only interest is making money for themselves and the land developers that back them. Trying to develop land without proper consultation is not only going to allow for the decimation of Ontario's green spaces and wildlife but having no legal oversight or protection for workers is a gross misuse of power and will enable corruption and illegal business practices. Ford claiming to care about Ontario jobs is already laughable, but his obvious disdain for workers and his lack of care for the environment or our future at a time when we are in a climate crisis is deplorable. If any other premier had tried this, they would be removed from office for this kind of power grab. This bill cannot be allowed to go through.
