With the current loss of biodiversity and the rise of species designated as at-risk we are not in a time where we can reduce protection with the already minimal processes in place to protect them. Within this proposal it was mentioned that changes are needed to make the process less complex for the benefit of faster construction. Although as an environmental consultant I understand the time and money invested into this process it is arguably the most minimal part of the construction process. We need to ensure the species are accounted for and protected before one destroys their habitat. I am not in support of these changes.
