I strongly oppose Bill 5.
I call for stronger protective laws and policies for the habitats, systems, and species of our natural world, and higher environmental standards in Ontario and Canada.
I oppose Bill 5 as a short-cut for industry in designated economic zones, and I am against the use of this bill as a prioritization of industry and profit over the environment, its species, the people of Ontario, and First Nations and Indigenous peoples.
As a young adult, important issues regarding economic stability and growth, housing and affordable living, and environmental degradation all impact me directly and deeply, and I do not believe Bill 5 to be the solution.
