After reading the Bill 5 proposal, I am not in support of the bill. It does not appear to be an actual protection for endangered species and does seem to be a way for government and developers to circumvent rules that protect areas and species that are endangered. I completely understand the current need to build affordable housing, however it would be incredibly shortsighted and irresponsible to put further pressure on species and areas that are already struggling to survive. I feel more research and a clearer policy should be explored.
