This is an absolutely outrageous move and blatant disregard for the environmental and social values that matter to most Canadians AND the rest of the world.

Species and ecosystems should not be put at risk by development, and especially for development that can be carried out in other areas in more sustainable ways. Though I understand that makes it more expensive for developers and more time consuming/costly for government, but actually that doesn't matter in any way.

The world needs to move towards sustainability, many nations have already proven we can do it (see every Icelandic nation's policies and development) and Canada should be leading the way in this. Our richest province should be far better and far more responsible.

It is pathetic that all of the science on climate change, habitat destruction, and species protection is being disregarded and eliminated in this way. Extremely American, ignorant, and ultimately embarrassing.

Stop it from happening.
