Hello Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks,
I would like to acknowledge the need for balanced economic growth with the ecological functions of water and species biodiversity conservation. Not an easy task. I feel strongly that the terms of the proposed changes removes needed environmental protections for animal and plant life that is valuable in its own right.
I oppose the reported overriding of environmental laws in special economic zones, and the changing of the terms of "habitat" and "harassment" to suit short term economic gains, as it is unclear what the size and scope of these economic zones are.
Governments must represent their people and their true honour is in providing for a prosperous future where generations of people and the natural environment's health and wealth are secured.
