This proposed legislation allows the government to ignore or alter the protection of vulnerable habitats and animals, the rights of First Nations and the right of citizens to raise objections and/or suggestions to decisions affecting the environment. The legislation erodes the democratic rights of Ontario Citizens. This legislation should not be passed. No proposed industrial or mining activity should be exempt from an environmental assessment.
