Hello,
I am a resident here in Toronto centre. I am writing today because I do not agree with the proposed changes to bill 5 that have been brought forward by Stephen Lecce.
I believe that the changes to the endangered species act is unnecessary and can cause irreparable damage for no long-term benefit to our Ontario communities. We should be preserving our natural beauty and biodiversity not destroying it or putting it more at risk than global warming already is.
Trump tariff war or not - the government needs to show a well rounded plan on battling the high cost of housing, food and living in general that does not continue to increase our negative footprint on the environment. We need to focus on improving within the space we have not just developing more high-rise homes for the wealthy or single family dwellings for the ultra rich on endangered species land.
Cutting corners and removing “red tape”, only when it applies to the protection of green-space is ridiculous. Instead make the processing time for city build permits etc, more efficient.
Thank you for your time.
