I oppose bill 5 and these changes to the environmental protections that keep our province healthy and beautiful.
Strong Environmental protections are what have allowed many to enjoy the nature we do have as well as protecting the many species of plants, animals etc that call Ontario home and we have a duty of care in our coexistence with them.
These changes only provide short cuts for industries that have shown time and again to not be interested in the cost of cleaning up their messes (see Alberta oil sands).
We already have seen the damage of paving over Ontario with the amount of flooding and new flood plains that have developed in Toronto, Mississauga, New Market, Aurora and Barrie, this will only worsen things for the population of Ontario and create untold millions in costs to Ontarians.
