As an archaeologist I cannot condone the proposals in this Bill. This Bill will be detrimental to the field of archaeology, as well as have negative impacts on conservation. Indigenous peoples have suffered loss of cultural materials and wealth and have had burial grounds destroyed and built over due to the methods of development in this province and this Bill would further the loss of culturally significant sites. It is morally corrupt to pass this Bill and anyone in good conscience should be opposed to it.
