I am appalled that the government is attempting to remove processes that use science and conversation methods to maintain our environment. Why should the government have the ability to add and remove species from the protected list at will without using any data? This WILL result in corruption and pay-outs to remove species for certain projects to occur.

Allowing development immediately after registration without consultation with Indigenous groups or environmental assessments will result in the permanent loss of important species and habitats. If the environmental consultation taking time is an issue with development, hire more people to help speed up the process and refine exactly what is needed in the consultation but do not throw it out altogether to allow fast development.

I am severely disappointed that the government wants to make it harder for these species to live in Ontario. I love hiking and camping in green spaces and being able to teach my children about the species we share our province with. With this act, many of the species are more at risk and I won’t be able to teach my grandchildren about them - instead they will learn how this government decided that profits for developers were more important than co-existing with other species on this earth.
