I am a resident of Ajax and am very concerned about Bill 5. Repealing the Endangered Species Act and allowing the provincial government to create special economic zones that would allow industrial development without public oversight would be devastating to many areas of Ontario. Ajax could be particularly impacted given the amount of greenery we have in our riding. Greenwood park and the waterfront areas are beautiful natural areas that could be devastated by Bill 5. Ajax is an ever growing area and I could see this particular provincial government using Bill 5 to absolutely decimate the natural beauty here without any study going into the long term environmental impact.
