I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding Bill 5. This bill is a complete violation of the rights of the very people who fund the government’s ability to function and carry out such decisions in the first place.
While I acknowledge that periodic adjustments to government regulation may be warranted, the blatant disregard for established regulations in even a select number of areas opens the door to corruption, environmental degradation, and significant risks to public health and safety.
If Premier Ford truly believes in the merit of these deregulated zones, I would challenge him to designate his own backyard as one of them. It’s only fair that those who promote such policies be the first to experience their full impact.
Ontario deserves governance that respects its citizens, its environment, and the long-term health of our communities.
