This bill is short-sighted, mean-spirited, ignorant and a clear show of power from a dim-witted politician who probably failed grade nine science where we talked about this, Doug. Environment means what is around you, not just nature. If we as one stupid species fail to protect natural environments we fail ourselves and our descendants even if they never go outside. You cannot know how important wild areas are to the Canadian psyche. Doug Ford wants to protect Canada, all the while destroying our most precious assets. We need nature, nature doesn’t need us. If we fail to preserve the things that keep us alive, soil, bacteria, photosynthesizing organisms (yes that’s a big word, but grade nine, remember?) and all the pieces of the ecosystem puzzle (mycorrhiza anyone?) then perhaps we will get what we deserve. Nature however, didn’t vote conservative. Nature is above and below politics. Please do not pass this bill. It weakens all of us.
