Dear Premier Ford and Minister Lecce,
I strongly oppose any amendments to Bill-5 and feel that in the chaos of the current political climate and with our attention diverted elsewhere, you are attempting to pull a fast one on the people of Ontario.
We must have more foresight when it comes to how we allow development to go forward and understand that while progress needs to to be made, it cannot be done so at the expense of our natural world. The natural world that sustains all of us – and future generations.
Plants and animals, including humans, share many genes - about 20-60% of human genes can also be found in plants - right down to a blade of grass. This shared DNA is a result of our shared evolutionary history.
We have to understand how intricately we are involved with our natural world and we have to consider this profound connection before we do things to alter it. We cannot undo these things once they are done; therefore every reasonable precaution must be taken to ensure any changes made are backed by science and sustainability. Not corporate greed and backroom development deals. Listen to your constituents.
