Hi I am a Ontario born resident and am making a comment on bill five in regards to the nature that I believe this bill aims to fast track its way through portions of section 9 and many parts of provincial environmental law that was previously set in place. These measures were taken so that we could prevent urban sprawl and by enacting bill 5 it would do irreparable damage to our green belt which is what we have these measures in place to protect, it would also give private companies the power to take out nature zones with no consultation from the citizens of the area first which prevents the actual residents of the area from having any input on the matter and reducing the impact of having any of the nine levels to tokenism in the government
Ultimately as a citizen of the greater Toronto area I stand against this bill as it is my duty to ensure that my kids will have an equally as great Canada to grow up In.
