I disagree with the bypassing and disregard of ministry approval in order to begin construction-based projects. The registration mentioned in the proposal does not guarantee true compliance with environmentally conscious behaviour once registration is approved. This, along with the proposed weaker restrictions on protected habitats, migratory lands, and mating lands, allows for these projects to begin without any effective protections in place on already endangered Ontario species. Essential protections will be lost and/or ignored as a result.
