I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act.
The name of this legislation is a lie. This bill does not protect Ontario, it poses a serious threat to our natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights. In fact it unleashes further destruction of the environment that we depend on for a healthy life.
Protecting the environment is not a barrier to economic growth. It’s the foundation of a healthy, resilient and just society.
