I am deeply concerned about the proposed Bill 5. It puts endangered species in Ontario at risk, undermines indigenous rights and consultations, and strips away important legal protections. The proposed changes to the permitting system will result in businesses and individuals exploiting the system and end up irreparably damaging important habitat. This bill should not move forward and requires actual consultation with the public and stakeholders.
