I find it difficult to believe that the government would discount or even eliminate expert opinion on harms to species at risk. Given that there have not been any cases of projects being stopped it remains to be made clear what exactly the government hopes to accomplish differently with this legislation. perhaps hearsay and anecdotes are enough to make government policy?
