The proposed Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act contains provisions to hand over a frightening amount of power to Premier Doug Ford and his cabinet without any debate or discussion in the legislature. Premier Ford and his cabinet should not be allowed to dictate what can or cannot be done in our communities, to our environment, and to our heritage without input from other parties, including the Ontario legislature. This is a clear overreach that resembles the rising authoritarianism in the United States and surely just to continue enriching Premier Ford and his development buddies. The Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act should be buried never to see the light of day. Thank you.
