This is a power grab and, based on his history in this province, I’m not convinced that our premier will be above board with all of his dealings. There is too much power in one person’s hands and I especially abhor the creation of ‘special economic zones’ in which all public rights will be suspended in favour of big corporations degrading the environment without any responsibility or accountability. It’s reminds me of certain areas in China.
If this bill is passed there will surely be a backlash and possibly, another investigation. Stop, and think, while you have a chance. Many Ontarians love and wish to keep our public (and private) lands secure for the generations to come. That will be worth more than a quick gain now and very expensive rehabilitation later.
