"causes unnecessary delays and costs for housing, transit, and critical infrastructure." Ah yes, and so we propose a bill that will bypass all of this. Stop and think about why we have legislation to begin with. It greatly concerns me that these changes are being proposed for short term gain while shortchanging our province's environmental future. Not to mention the blatant attempt to bypass rights of our First Nations peoples.
Why should the government be exempt from laws put in place to protect the community? The proposed changes benefit no one other than the select group of people and the current government in power who can pander about the increase in housing or jobs while sweeping under the rug that the housing is poorly built, on land that's vital to our environmental diversity and jobs that have poor oversight. Why should developers have free handouts like this from the government. For a government that rambles and rages on "free government handouts" by other parties, they sure like to do free handouts themselves.
