This proposal is incredibly short-sighted. We elect governments to think about the good of our communities, provinces, and country, both now and into the future. It is imperative that we protect our waters, lands, plants, and wildlife for the well being of both current and future generations. We also need objective, informed, non governmental committees of experts deciding what species should be listed or removed from endangered species listings. The reason we have permits and regulations is to prevent greed and ill-informed groups from acting in their own interests. Yes, this can slow industrial and residential development. If you want it to move faster, by all means invest in and fine tune the permit reviewal process. Dont remove permitting regulations altogether so that a relatively small group of self interested people can benefit in the short term, at the expense of the planet that we live on and share with other species in the long term.
