I whole heartedly object to this proposal. These proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act and Species Conservation Act will be catastrophic for plant and animal communities which are essential for the livelihood and wellbeing of human communities. Nature in Ontario must be protected and these changes will not be effective in benefitting the economy but will only benefit developers and people who are already well off. As an environmental anthropologist who has called Ontario home for 10 years I implore you to not go forward with these proposed changes for the sake of all communities, and our environmental heritage.
