Ontario is not for sale! Do not short-sightedly give away protection for endangered species and spaces for more construction, highways, shopping malls and expensive housing developments. We need to conserve what we have remaining - more is not more when it comes to "conveniences" - there is a glut of retail, fastfood and urban sprawl currently that are pushing many animal and plant species toward extirpation in Ontario.
An species needs the opportunity to forage, shelter, mate and to do so successfully, wildlife corridors, areas of natural food sources and clean water and healthy communities of their kind are necessary.
Stop the squeeze! I moved from southern Ontario to northern Ontario to escape the congestion of the GTA and yet, the present provincial government will not stop putting valuable natural and cultural heritage in front of bulldozers.
Please put this matter into arenas for public consultation and discourse and stop trying to push these deals that benefit developers and leaves the owners of Ontario with depleted natural resources.
I hope this bill is defeated because it is a unilateral decision by a policy maker that does not have a green future for Ontarians as a priority.
