Premier Ford and his Government are once again working to undermine the hard won Endangered Species Act of 2007. A world acclaimed Act
Mr. Ford and his government have consistently worked to dismantle our Province's important environmental protection and responsibilities using the excuse that regulations prohibit housing and infrastructure that our province needs. On the contrary, the Endangered Species Act and other environmental protections are in place to ensure that building homes, providing infrastructure and allowing mining do not undermine the Ontario environment that citizens value and the rights of indigenous people to protect their land, a right Ontarians respect. Mr.Ford is arguing that the Act interferes, creates 'red tape' that slows progress and delays the economic recovery of Ontario. This is Bill 5 is a clear instance of a government game of Smoke and Mirrors, the Bill 5 intended to distract residents from the current governments inability to provide well documented housing in locations that do not alter the preservation of our Endangered Species and their habitats. Rivers, waterways, wetlands, the Greenbelt must be protected against trespassers like the Ford Government. We value our Ontario Environment and protect our endangered species. Mr. Ford and his government are arrogant and ill - informed. Their complete obstinance and poor judgement is concerning. The Endangered Species Act has not been so brutally attacked in 18 years. Bill 5 was not a platform on which Doug Ford campaigned, he knew voters would reject giving him these 'special powers' to destroy Ontario as we know and love our province. Bill 5 must not be allowed to pass scrutiny. STOP THIS DESTRUCTION 😠 If Doug Ford was an endangered species (and the species 'pompous, arrogant white male bully' may be on the verge of extinction🙏) he'd think differently about arbitrarily wiping out important groups from the food chain, that includes him, not to mention the circle of life - we're all interdependent.
