This bill does not put a sufficient plan in place to protect the habitats that it is putting at risk. Removing protections for wildlife without a concrete step by step plan and budget is reckless and will devastate Ontario and the world. From the bottom of my heart, as someone that has grown up in Toronto with limited green space, the natural environment needs to be protected. For us to enjoy. To keep the wildlife safe. To preserve it for our children and future generations. More should be done to protect green spaces with diverse eco systems. Man made grass yards with designed trees and bushes is not enough to keep this community livable. There are many more sustainable ways to continue growing our economy and to make financially obtainable homes. Standardized and pre approved build plans for homes in place of condemned structures. Changing zoning requirements in residential areas that removes red tape for homes to be built or renovated to be big enough to satisfy the needs of more than one family. Allow additions that extend closer to the street. Standardize and pre approve permits to additions to homes that have the property available such as a driveway to add more space for their family or a standalone bachelor apartment. Continuing to reduce interest rates. All ideas that could be improved upon and bettered by someone with the tools and knowledge, which government officials should have or at least the ability to hire if they are making world altering decisions about our environment. It should not be at the expense of any creature losing their safety and home, which is what this bill is expressly requesting.
