This proposal is harmful to the integrity of Ontario and its natural areas. Money should not be the end goal of creating a better province, instead it should be fuel to help achieve goals.
This new bill is disregarding not only the well being of species at risk, but also the people who live in Ontario.
Ontario has already experienced many climate crises, mainly the forest fires becoming larger and more widespread every summer. If the bill is passed it will only continue to get worse.
Bill 5 will not create new jobs for Ontarians. It will take jobs away from hard working people who have put so much of their time and effort into preserving natural areas that are already creating revenue.
The endangered species act should be something that is meant to preserve the well being of the species and environment. Not something that is attempting to tear the area down and ask questions about it later.
