I fear that this act will leave vital environmental components unprotected. All this act does is allow developers to bypass important environmental assessments, using their own judgment to decide if they can go ahead based on a checklist, a decision which never will truly have the environment at heart. While I agree that things could move quicker and we need to move quicker, this is not the way. Our environment is our lifeline, and allowing that to be destroyed without due process, is not only failing the local species, but the broader Ontario, no, Canadian community as a whole.
