While the challenges that Ontarians face to building prosperous and productive lives are important and critical to address, I feel this proposal threatens the foundations of the ecosystems that support us all. The proposal’s inherent threat to housing, transit, and critical infrastructure for endangered species and their ecosystems is unacceptable. Its premise sounds alarms for me as a caring and science supporting Canadian. Our environment and its complex ecosystems are foundational to our long term wellbeing, prosperity, and success as Canadians. A balanced and informed approach must be taken when considering proposed changes to our environmental protections, and this proposal fails to meet these criteria.
