I am deeply concerned about your government’s plan to weaken protections for Ontario’s endangered species in the name of speeding up infrastructure projects in Bill 5. I don't think this respects our Environmental Bill of Rights

Over 230 species in our province are already at risk. These plants and animals are part of what makes Ontario special — and once they’re gone, we can’t bring them back. We and they have rights to healthy ecosystems with a diversity of species.

Decisions about what species are on the protection list and how we should adapt how we manage humans live, shared lands and waters with them, develop should be made with scientific knowledge as a basis.
