I am extremely opposed to these changes. Self regulation is a naive and disingenuous expectation as there is exhaustive evidence that individuals and corporations will not do what is best for wildlife or the environment when there is profit to be made. Governments are elected to protect the welfare of all their constituents and that includes protecting and advocating for an ever increasing clean and natural environment that we all depend on for a healthy life. The gutting of the Endangered Species Act is unacceptable.
