This is a gross overreach and encroachment on municipal authority. I am deeply concerned about provisions of this bill that would undermine the ESA and the creation of special economic zones that could override local planning and needs and limit any and all types of environmental review would be an unmitigated disaster. It is necessary to find creative ways to build more housing supply and support economic development, but this must be within a rules-based context that follows due process and protects the very natural systems and local communities that are at the foundation of our long-term wellbeing and prosperity.
