I strongly oppose the proposed changes to the ESA. This move would be short sighted. Destruction and degradation to green, natural spaces, especially the habitat of species at risk, is unacceptable. Once gone, we cannot get it back, and that is an unimaginable disservice to the people of Ontario and Canada. We cannot have a thriving economy without whole, healthy ecosystems around us.
I reject this government’s rational for amending the ESA and again I say, I oppose these proposed changes. We need nature, not more rushed, development that will fail in the face of climate change and don’t actually address the provinces needs for better infrastructure.
