I vehemently oppose this legislation. If we do not consider the impact we humans have on biodiversity, keystone species, and endangered species we will continue to see the devastating impacts of climate change. I live in the fort York - harbourfront riding and have already witnessed the impact our condo development has had on the waterfront. For instance, the flooding of lakeshore in 2023, and the devastation of Ontario place (including the killing of keystone species of cayotes this week). We see the economic impacts of this disregard of nature in our absurd planning for fifa in 2026, traffic congestion, and our inability to thrive in the riding. I do not want to see the biodiversity devastation in my parents riding on Ottawa west, the wildfires across northern Ontario, nor the devastation that will be wrought in our forests across our beautiful province. Please rescind Bill 5. For us, and for all future generations.
I see the housing vacancy in our province. I see it through my window. There are at least a dozen vacant units across from me. There is no housing shortage. We need to maintain our biodiversity and protect the environment despite our desire for economic gain.
