Let me express my vehement opposition to this permit application to take water. The Saugeen River is in one of the few remaining healthy watersheds left in Ontario. I own property on the River and 90% of my enjoyment of the property is derived from the Saugeen. It provides recreation, fishing and picturesque views and is enjoyed by local landowners, as well as by many visitors and day trippers. This is important to the local economy and provides a livelihood for many residents and businesses. As can be seen throughout the world, global warming is having a serious effect on rainfall and river levels. This result can only progress and get worse as time goes on. Any taking of water from the Saugeen River would seriously deplete this precious natural resource and cause irreparable harm to the watershed. In no way should this permit application be approved. Let right prevail.
