I firmly oppose the granting…

I firmly oppose the granting of an amendment or any type of permit to take water by the Walker Pit on Concession 4, West Grey to take water 24 hours a day, year round from the Styx and Saugeen.
We are already struggling with reduced water levels in our waterways (as a resident of Varney, our public swim pond has been closed due to low water levels in the river) and now this company wants to draw more from 2 of the most important local river systems in west Grey. Totally unacceptable.
Also, why was this notification issued with such a short time frame for public notice and comment?

This amendment has the potential for the most grievous environmental impact on the local watershed and all the organisms that depend upon it for life cycles - amphibians, mollusks, fish reptiles, birds, mammals, etc. We already have a number of endangered and threatened species living in those watersheds and this will push them over the brink.

Please do not grant Walker Pit this amendment or any new permits to take water,
