I am very concerned that this request for a Category 3 Permit to take water for a wash pond to be used for industrial aggregate washing will have a significant impact on the surrounding environment, potentially causing unacceptable interference and harmful environmental changes.

These changes will effect surrounding potable water sources, farmland, species residing in the area, the native pants, wildlife, trees, etc..

The Pit is surrounded by farmland and households that are dependent on well water. The water table may be high due to the proximity to the Saugeen River and its tributaries but we know that underground, as well as above, everything is impacted by the activities in the surrounding areas. The request to take water on a daily, 24 hour period for a ten year period and taking over 7,000,000 of water per day is unacceptable.

As a Category 3 permit it has the highest potential for very harmful interference and harmful environmental impact. I am opposed to the having this proposal approved. I reside within a 10 minute drive from the Pit and rely on well water as many residents do in the area.
