Hard NO. Extraction below the water table incurs a high risk of polluting our aquifer; the clean water supply that many rely on. Given past experience with resource extraction companies that often promise one thing, then do another (and are quite willing to pay the relatively small fines for "infractions"), this is not a situation with which anyone should be comfortable.
The water and the land belong to The People; their health and safety should be the priority, not corporate wants.
