I do not have an account, but do want my comment to have the same weight as a registered account and to be included in the considerations of this proposal.
Our park territories have been considered and defined by and for the people of yesterday, today and the future inhabitants of Ontario. These were regulated anticipating the growth and sprawl of the communities and transportation connections that would inevitably put pressure on their borders, recognizing those may indeed make those ambitions more difficult or costly, but the potential of any loss of these areas, far outweighed, and still outweighs, any additional difficulties or costs that would be incurred to work around them.
If every successive government were to justify their plans at the expense of our protected territories there would be nothing left of our truly Canadian wilderness...our very identity would be challenged in a way beyond politics, our home and "native" land would be whittled away bit by bit in the name of commercial expediency and profit to the few.
Leave our parks and conservation areas alone, or, leave being the Government of the day to a more creative and competent group of people.
Get creative folks...we and future generations are counting on you!
