I'm a senior citizen who still drives, and I oppose this proposal.

As I've gotten older, I find it harder to react quickly to unexpected situations. When cyclists are mixed with car traffic, they create unpredictable movements - weaving around obstacles, appearing suddenly from behind parked cars, making quick turns.

Protected bike lanes create predictable, separated spaces. I know where cyclists will be, and they're not suddenly in front of my car. This makes driving much less stressful and safer for someone like me with slower reaction times.

Forcing cyclists back into mixed traffic makes roads more chaotic and dangerous for older drivers. Municipalities should be able to build infrastructure that makes roads safer and more predictable for all users, including elderly drivers like me.
