Car centric travel is not sustainable, and it’s not the way forward. If there is any hope of addressing the insane traffic in Toronto, and across the entire province, it’s not by policies such as the proposed where car lanes take precedence over all types of surface transport. We need options for transportation, and bike lanes, bus lanes, and rail are necessary options that we need to reduce our over reliance on cars that is the root cause of traffic. Options allow people the freedom to choose how to safely travel within and between cities, and the myopic focus on cars above all else hinders our freedom to move in more sustainable ways.
