I am writing in support of the proposed MZO for the Delbrook Group’s Master Plan Community. The project reflects thoughtful planning that balances growth with community benefit, and I am particularly encouraged by the developer’s intention to donate land for ten affordable homes delivered in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
This commitment to a mix of six affordable rental homes and four affordable ownership homes demonstrates a clear recognition that long-term housing solutions require both supply and inclusion. Habitat’s model provides stability for working families while creating generational impact, and integrating these homes directly into the community is an important step toward complete, diverse neighbourhoods.
Enabling projects that pair private development with meaningful public-interest outcomes positions Ontario for stronger, more resilient growth. I support this MZO as a mechanism that allows this project to move forward efficiently while delivering tangible affordability benefits for local families.
