The beauty of this specific area of Oakville, and also its historical value as a Lakeshore town that has some of the most fond memories of Ontario, like the historical Port of Entry that was closed in early 1900, the route from the Underground Railroad thorugh Lake Ontario all the way to the 'North Star', Canada, its magnificent buildings and protected historical homes (sadly, the " Half Way House" from 1800's was recently destroyed by greedy builders on the Lakeshore on the past months, and nor the Town or the Province or even the Federation authorities were able to stop this terrible act), and other incredible places and areas that are unique and so stunning and create amazing communities, with unique habitats and ecosystems all around the Lake and inside the town canopy and green natural, preserved spaces, will definitely be affected by the voracious and not-at-all properly planned zoning and development that builders and some politicians want to execute there. We wonder, with all the respect, of course, if the authorities and developers that are planning those builiding and cementing everywhere have ever been at the Erchless State Oakville Museum, have any History background and real community involvment and volunteering, and also, if they have any profound knowdledge about the how this cementing, noise, increased traffic volune (already unsustaible and very polluting at Trafalgar and adjacent streets) and human density will affect not only the population living and making a community thrive with all of their hearts at this zone, but also the canopy, the migration patterns through Lake Ontario and the ecosystems of the also historic Sixteen Mile Creek and sorrounding areas. We insist and demand that decisions stop been made from a desk or an office or a politician or developer quarters, and to take the opinions of the persons and families that have made their home and their living, very proudly, at South Oakville region, for most or all of their lives. We are now bolder, stronger and will not stop to speak up. Quality of living, the right to have living spaces not butchered and crowded ( it has been also proven by the medical studies, that crowded communities have less life span, more crime, stress and mental and physicall decline over the years). No developer or Politician or organisation should take life and Joy away from their citizens. May God bless you all, open your hearts, and see the light. Like the descendant of the founders of Oakville, the Chisholm family, Hazel Chisholm Matthews will call, the beauty of "Oakville-by-the-Lake' as well as its history, charm and incredible community and memories, should be preserved for the generations to come. Merry Christmas and may God bless you all! =)
