We are appalled at the…

We are appalled at the Government of Ontario’s proposal to build 11 towering condo buildings, each between 45 to 56 stories. The town of Oakville submitted a proposal for the area that meets the government’s needs and supports the Town vision - why would the Ontario government elected by the people not support the people’s plan?
The Government plan creates
- small, tiny box condos that do not support a family, only commuter bedrooms
- giant towers that are in low demand, and not being filled in other GTA areas - why create more empty condos that blight an area?
- an area with a density higher than New York City - how does that make sense?? Especially when it is not needed and far exceeds what the TOC plan calls for?
- no infrastructure - physical or social - required to make it a viable community
- causes terrible traffic congestion in an already bottleneck area

The Government of Ontario is there to meet the needs of its citizens, not developers. The Town of Oakville’s plan meets the Ontario Government’s needs and Oakville citizens’ needs - why in the world would it not be supported by the Ontario Government?????
