Why is Oakville wanting to build more condos when condos are not selling and this many people in this midtown area would create gridlock in our town?

I believe the new midtown development will have at least 12,000 people and if they all have at least one car it will be gridlock when they want to go to work or come home, which is about the same time for everyone each day. Even if some take the Go Train they will not want to walk in the snow and ice to get to the Go station. Most people are back to work in the office and the Oakville Go Train parking lot is already full so where will these 12,000 people park? Not all people can take Go Transit to work. Anyone going north on Trafalgar already faces congestion. This is going to cause more congestion in the area. Even people living in condos have cars for trips to Costco, children's soccer/hockey practice, doctor and dentist appointments for the family.

Where are these 12,000 people supposed to get a doctor? How can our Oakville hospital handle 12,000 more residents when the wait times are already long for the emergency department? Please build another hospital before you start this project. We should never have lost the original Oakville Hospital to high end housing and a Community Centre since the need is greater for hospitals now and our hospital is overflowing. The people that lived in the area of the original hospital did not need a Community Centre since most of them have their own cottages to go to for recreation.

Where are the children in these condos going to go to school? There is no planned school in this area.

Who is going to pay for the upgrades to the water treatment plants, the extra garbage collection?

The Towers are too tall and will cause major problems for people to get out if there is a fire or medical emergency.

What will be done to discourage tents and drug use in the park you plan to put in this new area?

Is there going to be a separate playground and dog park because children should not be playing where dogs are?

How big will the units be in these towers? Small units will be left unsold and no one wants to live in tiny condos. How will you discourage the units from being used as Airbnb's? We have seen other buildings go up and be rented out as Airbnb's so they are not solving the housing problem - please see the 40 lockboxes at Bronte & Dundas condos when they don't have that many on the market.

With the uncertainty of employment these days and very few people wanting to buy condos why build these towers? We have a deep hole in the ground on the south side of the Oakville Go Station that was to be a condo project but has not been developed in over 10 years and we don't need another hole on the north side. What will you do to avoid this being another building project that does not get completed but is an eyesore to everyone?

Please rethink this project for the safety hazard and gridlock it will cause and put a stop to this project before this becomes another Airbnb site or worse a vacant lot with a big hole like there is at the south side of the Oakville Go Station.

The developers will make their money and leave the cost of the infrastructure to the Town of Oakville which is not right. Don't fall victim to developers. Oakville is full already, we don't need more infill.

Thank you.
