I am a 25 year long member of the Oakville community. I have been closely following the Midtown proposal process. It is preposterous to propose that MZOs be initiated for the Midtown area. The traffic density and building heights would absolutely ruin that area. It will become a wasteland of vacant high rise apartments that would totally overwhelm the area's infrastructure and disrupt everyday life for years to come.
Please do not make this into another community confrontation like the Oakville Gas Plant from the McGuinty era.
The Town of Oakville planning committtee has all of the skills and resources necessary for the project and have come up with a much more liveable solution called OPA 70.
