I approve of this amendment.

Suspended solids in water cause both ecological and aesthetic problems. While some suspended solids may not cause issue, and may be part of the natural cycles in a water body, human activity tends to add more of them, and problematic ones as well. This can impact photosynthesis in the water, and by extension alter water chemistry and the food web in the water.

Furthermore, in more urban areas, pollutants, such as those created by car exhaust and tire particles, can adsorb onto buildings and then end up in the water system once it rains, thereby adding more pollutants to it. These pollutants then harm ecosystems, and by extension us, both in terms of health and in terms of finances.

Of course, thorough research has to be done the type of separators added, and they have to be maintained properly to work.
